Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short –term incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:
The International Paper Fiber Supply team is made up of over 100 employees who support our North American mill system with the purchase of approximately 30MM tons of wood fiber annually. This team is a diverse group of professionals who work together to ensure we are sourcing fiber responsibly across a $1 billion spend. We take an enterprise approach to source both IP mills and third party locations. The Fiber Supply team is also involved with hundreds of different professional and civic organizations within the communities where we operate - Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, local food banks, Log-a-Load for Kids, etc. Fiber Supply is committed to leading the industry in ensuring forests fulfill economic, social, and environmental values for present and future generations.
The Fiber Procurement Representative at Springfield is responsible for the purchase and delivery of fiber products to a pulp mill, in the form of purchased chips. This position will conduct fiber / wood procurement activities, be accountable for fiber cost and volume targets, and be responsible for fiber quality and logistics. Additionally, this position will oversee relationships with vendors to ensure compliance with contracts, company policies and procedures including safety, financial, environmental performance and fiber certification. The successful candidate will be based at the Fiber Supply office at the Springfield mill. Candidate must be willing to work on some weekends, holidays, and outside of normal business hours if situations arise. A personally assigned vehicle is provided. The successful candidate must maintain a valid driver’s license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide safety leadership through modeling of safe behaviors and ensure employee and contractor adherence to all mill safety requirements and expectations
- Management of contract administration and SAP functions
- Ensure adherence to IP Corporate financial and purchasing policies and procedures including EMS requirements
- Manage relationships, chip volumes, delivery schedules, and pricing with chip mill suppliers
- Lead Fiber Quality processes and initiatives at the Springfield Mill
- Provide assistance as needed to coordinate maintenance with fiber receiving systems
- Assist Fiber Supply Manager with receipts, inventory and cost forecasts
- Participate on the Joint Fiber Team at the Springfield Mill

- Bachelor’s degree (Forestry, Business Management, Marketing, Logistics, Transportation, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Materials Management, Supply Chain)
- Self-starter

- Demonstrated proficiency in analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
- Two or more years of procurement experience
- SAP experience
- Valid driver’s license
