The Job You Will Perform:

Description:

A Facility Preservation FLL is responsible for supervising the mechanical maintenance, repair and rebuild of equipment to achieve high reliability and minimize repair costs.  This supervisor will report through the Reliability Department and be direct contact for onsite contractors as well as shift mechanics. Maintenance activities include: directing crew in routine repairs, outage preparation and execution, preventive and predictive maintenance efforts. This FLL will be the direct contact for grounds crew, scaffolding contractor, AC, elevators, and other needed facility preservation. This FLL will also support the onsite tank coordinator during outage. The crew that this individual will supervise will set the standard for precision work and retain the knowledge of these repair procedures for Vicksburg equipment. This position will be a PL11-13, depending on the experience of the successful candidate.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Must ensure their team works safely in an industrial environment, and consistently demonstrate model safety behavior
  • Maximize team impact by focusing on precision work and avoid rework
  • Coach and manage employees to be in complete support/compliance with Reliability efforts, through adherence to Work Management Systems, Precision Maintenance practices & standards, Root Cause Analysis & Equipment Condition & Monitoring practices
  • Communicate and implement fundamental maintenance standards and expectations, audit frequently for sustainability and consistency, and give constructive feedback and correct behaviors when needed
  • Hold meaningful one-to-one discussions with members of the Pulp mechanical crew; set clear expectations for both team and individuals
  • Work closely with Purchasing Manager to establish and maintain contracts for the mill to provide central services for the mill.
  • Work closely with Capital Manager and Department BUMS to secure funding for capital projects and mill capital projects assisting each area.
  • Work closely with the Tank Coordinator to assist with mill asset preservation.
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Engineering Manager and Mill Controller to develop and execute Central Maintenance Budget.

 

 

Qualifications:

H.S. Diploma or GED, along with 7 years of mechanical maintenance experience.  At least 3 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing maintenance leadership role is preferred.  The successful candidate will possess substantial knowledge of and experience with maintaining rotating equipment including pumps and gearboxes, welding and cutting metals, heavy rigging, pipefitting, and repair/troubleshooting of hydraulic systems.
