Pay Rate:

$98,000-$120,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Develop advanced personal skill set to lead and be involved with all applicable drills and training.
  • Participate in critical planning meetings and alert rescue teams to possible needs for outages and critical projects.
  • Work with area teams to review and organize emergency plans for all high risk areas and tasks.
  • Author any required SOPs concerning ERT training, equipment maintenance & calibration, and rescue plans.
  • Assembly and completion of various SOP, equipment, training, and supply/equipment audits.
  • Develop inspection criteria for all supply/equipment stored and used by MERT.
  • Manage a budget for the purchase of required rescue equipment.
  • Inspect all ERT equipment and supplies.
  • Act as a liaison between mill and outside emergency services.
  • Develop and manage a file for fire and rescue plans, review and re-approve plans on a regular basis.
  • Keep a current roster of all active members on document management system.  Report any inactive or non-participant members to leadership.
  • Encourage and campaign for new membership, actively promote MERT through mill communications. 
  • Inspect, fill and maintain both rescue and operations SCBA cylinders.
  • Schedule annual inspections and testing for SCBA cylinders.
  • Work with Mill Nurse and EHS Department to schedule training for current and new members.
  • Conduct on-site training for Emergency Response Teams.
  • Manage and file ERT training records.
  • Develop and schedule meetings and topics for MERT.
  • Develop and administer emergency response training scenarios for all teams during meetings.
  • Plan and administer required emergency evacuation drills for all mill employees.
  • Offer and schedule site specific training to outside fire departments and medical teams.

 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience with outside emergency services preferred
  • Good people skills
  • Recognized as a safety leader
  • Ability to develop Standard Operating Guidelines and necessary training to comply.
  • Work independently
  • Computer skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
  • Presentation skills
