The Job You Will Perform:
The Mill Learning Leader is responsible for implementation, continuous evaluation, and improvement of the employee training program at the facility location. The Mill Learning Leader ensures consistency of the training program and alignment with site goals and enterprise training standards. The Mill Learning Leader is also the primary contact/ link for the Global Manufacturing Training Team and other IP location Learning Leaders.
As the champion/advocate for the training program, this role provides oversight for the Mill training program and guidance to the Lead Team, department management and Department Learning Leaders. The Mill Learning Leader drives changes and improvements through systems and instills training as a core value.
Safety
- Understands importance of and complies with Mill safety and environmental policies, procedures and practices
- Acts as a role model for demonstrating correct safety and environmental behaviors (hazard recognition awareness)
- Verifies training materials are in alignment with safety and environmental policies and practices
- Provides oversight for compliance training requirements completions for EHS
Knowledge
- Understands how to work in computer applications (including SharePoint, LMS, MS Office, etc.)
- Understands meeting facilitation principles
- Understands adult learning theory and techniques
- Understands best practices and standards and tools for creating and delivering effective training
- Understands process and best practices for developing assessment criteria (testing, evaluations, etc.)

Tasks
- Develop and manage mill training budget
- Develop and manage mill training scorecard Coach
- Department Learning Leaders
- Manage New Hire Integration (NHI) program
- Coordinate and conduct NHI classes
- Evaluate participant performance Task Group 2
- Manage Effective Use of Dept Training Resources (learning leaders, training reserves for straight time training, etc.)
- Oversee and Manage Qualification and Performance Processes
- Ensure job training qualification and certification process is followed
- Ensure personal development plans are developed and followed
- Oversee and Manage Mill Training Programs and (associated) sustainable work systems
- Lead mill training council; prioritize training initiatives
- Assist mill and dept managers to identify training needs proactively
- Ensure training related action items from MOCs, RCFAs, IRISs, FELs, etc. are properly assigned, tracked and completed
- Ensure consistency of training process and materials throughout the mill
- Identify and reduce gaps and barriers in employee training programs
- Perform training system and effectiveness audits to ensure deliberate improvement of our workforce performance
- Oversee and Manage Training Records
- Ensure accurate training records for each employee are available
- Provide reports on training progress and completion to leadership
- Track mill and multi-dept training events in the LMS
- Ensure required sign-offs and training for changes/ MOCs are tracked /documented
- Manage Development and Maintenance of Training Material
- Coordinate sharing of content between mills and between departments
- Coordinate development of training materials (eCourses, reference documents, learning activities, instructor lead presentations, etc.) as needed
- Develop learning exercises and activities for multi-department assignment
- Work with Enterprise training team to evaluate and select purchased training content and providers
- Ensure training materials are kept current Ensure feedback from training is properly captured, addressed and communicated
- QA eCourse storyboard and online content prior to deployment/ assignment
- Ensure Alignment and Communication/ Sharing with the Global Manufacturing Training Team
The Skills You Will Bring:
- Minimum five years’ experience in a training role and or managing teams
- High proficiency in technical and computer skills
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development or related field
- Experience in Learning Content Management Systems (My-Learning)
- Experience in developing position curriculums / profiles
- Ability to work closely and effectively with the Global Manufacturing Training Team
