Pay Rate:

$121,000-134,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

The key accountabilities listed below are not to be considered all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks, as directed, and based on changing business needs of the company.

  • Supports and leads efforts at Bogalusa that include an injury-free environment through role modeling safe behavior, active involvement in safety activities and maintaining a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Leads development and execution of quality metrics and customer interaction for the mill, and support company initiatives in these areas.
  • Improve the cost of quality by defining actionable KPI’s to prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Develop a quality culture of documented root cause resolution problem solving methodologies
  • Assist the Manufacturing Team in the resolution of process problems affecting Product Quality through the use of Six Sigma and other problems solving techniques.
  • Advocates, promotes, and sells Quality best practices and shares information freely. Work in a team environment with Site Managers and Production Supervisors to assist with the successful operation of the Quality System.
  • Acts as liaison for key contractors in the areas of Quality
  • Develops, maintains, and uses SOPs  for all relevant processes and their improvements.
  • Site coordinator for critical business software for quality,
  • Leadership role in ensuring team member relations, efforts, and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results.
  • Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements.  Specifically, ensure communication and processes are in place to maximize positive relations with the mill’s customers, including box-plants and at the corporate level.
  • Coordinate all customer interactions with the mill, including resolution of quality issues, changes in quality specifications, and site visits.
  • Leader of the Quality Support Team ensuring team member relations, efforts and processes are in place to maximize team member engagement and results.
  • Maintains and develops team relationships, both within the mill and within the company.
  • Willingness to travel and provide support to the mill outside normal business hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude that instills confidence in personal leadership ability

 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Management and Leadership experience required with five plus years manufacturing experience.
  • Thorough and detailed knowledge of paper making and the impact of paper quality on convertibility and box production
  • Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong project management skills with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Proficy (quality management systems).
  • Experience working in a team-based HPWS, customer and quality-focused organization.
  • Knowledge of relevant OSHA and IPG standards and regulations.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in quality assurance and quality management systems for product manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated experience as primary communication interface with contractors, manufacturing leaders, and suppliers, including internal and external customers.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining safety initiatives.
  • General knowledge of basic statistical quality control (SQC).
