Process Engineer

 

Pay Rate:

$75,800 - $101,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

  • Dedicated engineering resource to the fibers area including the woodyard and pulp mill
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance to area personnel using analytical and Manufacturing Excellence tools
  • Gather information, analyze and communicate analysis of mill systems and equipment with the intent to improve efficiencies, reduce cost and/or improve throughput. 
  • Contribute to project teams that provide recommendations for and implementation of process improvements both short term and long term
  • Plan, coordinate, execute and evaluate process trials
  • Lead by example in all aspects including safety, environmental and colleague interactions
  • Focus work utilizing 80/20 principles and internal/external customer needs
  • Collaborates with teams across the mill in other operating areas and maintenance
  • Participates in the weekend duty rotations
  • Fills in for the area Technical Assistants, Area Process Managers, Operations Maintenance Coordinator or Business Unit Manager as needed
  • Mentor Early Career Manufacturing Engineer full time hires and interns

 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:

  • 2+ years of Pulp and Paper industry experience in the fibers area is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering such as chemical, paper science, mechanical, electrical or other STEM field is required
  • Knowledge of Pulp and Paper manufacturing processes including safety and environmental is required
  • Experience leading and managing personnel is preferred
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products and analytical tools such as PIVision and PowerBI is preferred
  • Action Oriented, Customer Focus, Interpersonal Skills, Dealing with Ambiguity, Time Management, Technical Learning, Priority Setting and Organizational Skills
