Pay Rate:

$100,700 - $134,300 (USCORE)

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

The Manufacturing Manager will lead all operational functions at our preprint plant and will report directly to the Complex General Manager. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Lead, develop, and coach the manufacturing team. Plan, assign, and direct workflow
  • Evaluate employee performance; reward and discipline employees; promote safety, quality production and teamwork; and resolve conflicts
  • Track forecast and define appropriate inventory and safety stock goals.
  • Track and communicate performance metrics, conduct analysis and make adjustments to address gaps and improve performance
  • Oversee scheduling and manage labor planning to meet production demands
  • Promote and support a strong safety culture
  • Manage leading indicator efforts including safe work observation process, 5S, hazard recognition and controls
  • Effectively communicate operational information in both oral and written format at all levels
  • Actively promote and ensure compliance with safety, quality and other programs and initiatives within the organization
  • Maintain necessary documentation and reports
  • Perform random inspections of all quality and safety policies and procedures
  • Monitor and manage variable expenses
  • Physical requirements include continuously seeing, standing, walking, talking, hearing/listening, and occasionally lifting up to 50lbs
  • Other duties as assigned

 

In addition to daily operational responsibilities, the successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining systems, driving manufacturing improvements, as well as engaging the work teams to accomplish operational objectives.

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • Relevant degree is preferred, along with at least five years’ experience in the printing industry
  • Good understanding of flexographic printing, color theory, inks and printing substrates. Ability to troubleshoot
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership experience
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to react to operational support requirements; must be able to organize time effectively and prioritize tasks to cope with fluctuating workloads
  • Ability to lead multifunctional teams and collaborate with other departments, customers, and business partners
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to drive results and influence others to meet department objectives
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook; ability to learn industry and customer specific computer systems
