The Job You Will Perform:

We are currently seeking applicants for a full-time Quality Technician in our Indianapolis, IN SpaceKraft liquid bulk packaging facility. The Quality Technician is responsible for supporting the corrugated IBC manufacturing employees in the daily production of SpaceKraft products. This includes maintaining logs, records, quality analysis, lab testing, problem solving and special projects.

 

The Quality Technician will have a shift of 6pm to 6am on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule.  

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • All employees are responsible and accountable for Food Safety as directed by HACCP and SQF code modules 2 and 13, Category 27 for Food Packaging Producers.
  • Drive continuous-improvement activities using product and process data, including the facilitation of improvement teams.
  • Assist production associates, from a quality perspective, to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and trust regarding product quality. This includes adherence to US FDA, Dairy, SQF, HACCP and all other agreed upon product safety requirements for food grade finished packaging products.
  • Inspect incoming raw material product and validate that it meets all the proper requirements.
  • Perform tasks that are associated with, but not limited to, first article inspections and any/all lab testing.
  • Assist with Management of Change through appropriate communications and recordkeeping practices, including logs, files, reports, and systems.  Communicate changes, both oral and written, with production team and other team personnel as necessary. Example: Participate and manage any/all “first article check” quality processes.
  • Ensure optimum effectiveness in scrap control.
  • Participates in meetings and training sessions
  • The Quality Technician has no direct supervisory responsibility.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management. 

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

Minimum Qualifications include:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Willing to work an off-shift schedule (Night shift, 2nd shift, 3rd shift), or rotating shift, or fill in on other shifts (i.e. vacation coverage on another shift)

 

Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred; prior experience in the corrugated packaging industry is highly preferred;
  • Previous experience in quality and manufacturing is preferred; previous lab and corrugated/food industry experience is highly preferred.
  • College or technical education in a related field is preferred;
