Pay Rate:

$121,000 – $148,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

The Quality Manager at International Paper’s Riegelwood Mill will be responsible for the overall quality of products produced at the facility.  In additon, this role is accountable for keeping the Product Performance Manager informed, as well as interacting with all departments about the quality assurance programs.  The individual will be involved in both internal and external customer complaint investigations and corrective action plans in response to customer needs.  The Quality Manager will be active in mill quality audits, both internal and external, and will assist in managing Riegelwood’s quality systems to ensure the site meets the expectations of the Global Cellulose Fiber (GCF) Manufacturing Quality Mangement System Manual.

 

  • Manage the mill’s customer and quality audits:
    • Maintain compliance to  ISO 9001:2015 certification
    • Coordinate ISO 9001 mill audits
  • Lead the overall quality assurance of facility, including:
    • Quality labs and testing
    • Complaint systerms
  • Routine work includes, complaint and credit statistics reporting, month-end and quarterly quality reports, project annual department budgetary needs, maintain lab equipment reliability and accuracy
  • Maintain and create grade specifications and quality system alerts, coordinate internal mill trials, responsible for the day to day quality of roll stock leaving the mill meets customer requirements
  • Must have a strong relationship with Finished Products (FP) management team in coordinating trial work and providing direction to FP team on quality related issues
  • Significantly reduce high and normal risk complaints
  • Ensure completion of root cause investigations and corrective actions for quality related issues and concerns, and monitor and ensure corrective actions in response to complaints are effective
  • Interface with mill leadership and production departments, GCF business units, Customer Technical Service (CTS) representatives and customers regarding quality.
  • Participate in internal and external audits including mill, GCF, and customer audits
  • Support product innovation efforts, trials, projects and commercialization
  • Work closely with GCF Sustainability to ensure the mill stays compliant with all certifications
  • Manage one Quality Engineer and lead projects involving other departments

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ quality management experience in a manufacturing environment
  • At least one (1)  year of previous supervisory experience within quality management
  • Strong computer knowledge and skills that include experience with Excel, Proficy, Pi, and Minitab
  • Strong data analysis and root cause analysis skills required
  • ISO 9001 experience preferred
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus
