Pay Rate:

$137,400-$183,200

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform:

The MME will be heavily involved in a broad spectrum of areas including operations, maintenance, technical, and people. 

  • Safety leadership development of team, and safety leadership activities across the mill in all areas
  • Lead ME organization, which includes ME leaders and ME engineers, ensuring the overwhelming majority of the team’s time and energy is devoted to improvement
  • Administers REACH development process at the mill
  • Core member of college recruiting team at the mill, and owner of the health intern/co-op program
  • Ensure penetration of LEAN tools/Six sigma processes, including development of white/green/black belts within the mill
  • Champion best practices processes both specific to ME in business and region, as well as to area/department specific best practice teams, replicates successes across the mill
  • Budget development process team member, ensuring line of sight to improvements necessary to delivery 3% YOY
  • Personal development/achievement of MME certification (six sigma black belt +)
  • Member of the mill people development council
  • Serve in a leadership role for the mill during weekend duty rotation

  • Quickly develop thorough knowledge of mill equipment and systems
  • Utilize excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate to groups and individuals at all levels
  • Approach positional responsibilities in an inclusive manner by engaging all team members in area, department, and mill
  • Utilize the International Paper Change Process to drive change
  • Utilize strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks effectively

 

Required Experience:

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (chemical, electrical, or mechanical) or related field.

Significant previous operations or maintenance assignments, APM/AMM or multiple APM/AMM assignments, or business unit level leadership assignments. Green belt preferred.  MME must complete black belt level training (and achieve MME certification) to learn six sigma skills and facilitate the use of these skills in the mill.
