The Job You Will Perform:
This role will work closely with a variety of different groups and departments within the Waterloo plant, but will report directly to the Plant General Manager with functional reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
The Electrical Engineer plays a critical hands-on role in maintaining and improving the electrical systems that support corrugating and converting operations. This position focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading electrical components and control systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime and safe, efficient production.
The Skills You Will Bring:
- BS/BA in Engineering; preferred Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial
- 3+ Years of manufacturing experience
- Experience in a heavy industrial environment in operations and/or maintenance
- Corrugated packaging manufacturing experience preferred
- Support safety as a core value
- Support the plant efforts to achieve consistent results
- Coordinate and review vendor equipment, installation and other discipline drawings for operability and maintainability input Maintain strong safety leadership
- Perform professional and more complex electrical engineering work relating to the design of single line, three lines, wiring diagrams and general arrangement in conformance with applicable rules, standards, and construction or operating permits
- PLC/HMI controls redesign and upgrades of existing processes
- AC motor and servo motor controls redesign and upgrades
- Collaborate with multiple departments to resolve technical issues and improve business practices
- Work with Robotic Programmers and HMI Programmers to ensure full functionality of the system
- Work with IT to resolve ethernet communications issues between machinery and machine components.
- Assist with new machine start up and commissioning.
- Conduct Root Cause Counter Measures to continually improve machine reliability and production output.
- On call troubleshooting as needed.
