Maintenance Supervisor

Assistance Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Supervisor  

 

Pay Rate:

$60,200 - $101,000

 

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range at either a PL 7 or a PL 10. Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s annual incentive plan.

The Job You Will Perform:

 

  • Manages and maintains a single, site-wide parts and tool inventory and coordinates and manages routine service contractors. 
  • Determines material needs for repairs, research options, obtain pricing, utilize the SAP system to create a requisition, and receive material in SAP upon receipt of invoices. 
  • Coordinate purchasing, inventory, and work order administration activities of the Maintenance Department. 
  • Assists in ensuring proper plant receiving procedures are followed. 
  • Analyzes high maintenance cost centers and in consultation with the respective manager, implements solutions to reduce and improve the cost.
  • Work with vendors to consolidate purchases where cost savings can be derived
  • Actively participate in ensuring a safe work environment. 
  • Perform preventive maintenance administrative activities.
  • Lead and direct plant maintenance activities; ensure equipment and facilities are kept in optimum operating conditions.
  • Report to Manufacturing Manager any information that may impede the operation of the plant as soon as it becomes known, while providing technical expertise regarding plant equipment and facilities.
  • Initiate and/or maintain a cost-effective preventive maintenance program and Implement quality improvement and cost reduction ideas
  • Contact and work with vendors and subcontractors to achieve desired results.
  • Maintains adequate inventories of spare parts and Purchase materials, parts, and supplies as required.
  • Troubleshoot and solve problems.

 

The Skills You Will Bring:

  • High School Diploma, or G.E.D, supplemented by technical or college course work in facility maintenance AND four (4) years of experience in manufacturing facilities maintenance performing planning, and project coordination; OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position. 
  • Strong leadership, project management, and problem solving skills; high level of interpersonal savvy and ability to influence others is required. Sufficient mechanical aptitude to understand maintenance issues and tasks and to communicate effectively with work groups and contractors is required. 
  • Knowledge of corrugated manufacturing processes and related experience in work order administration, and/or preventive maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic math as required in inventory reporting, production reporting, and charts and graphs for measurement reports and analysis. 
  • Ability to manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Flexible to work weekends and/or off shifts.

 

Additional For PL 10:

  • Four years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
    • College and/or related technical courses preferred.
    • Five years’ experience in the corrugated box industry with heavy experience in electronics preferred.
    • Mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electricity experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated personnel supervisory skills.
